Psalm 144:1-4
Of David.
Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield, in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. LORD, what are human beings that you care for them, mere mortals that you think of them? They are like a breath; their days are like a fleeting shadow.
Praise be to the LORD…
…My Rock: He is the One I run to for refuge. With Him I can never be moved.
…My Fortress: He is the One I stand behind for protection. Behind His walls I am defended.
…My Stronghold: He is the place where I hide from my enemy. In Him the enemy will never find me.
…My Deliverer: He is the One who snatches me from the jaws of defeat. The enemy is powerful but no match for my deliverer.
…My Shield: He is the One who always has my back. His shield guards me on all sides.
Father, thank You for being my Rock, my Fortress, my Stronghold, my Deliverer, my Shield. My hope and trust is in You alone. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
