Psalm 150
Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with timbrel and dancing, praise him with the strings and pipe, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD.
The final psalm is the great hallelujah (the Hebrew word for “Praise the Lord”). It begins and ends with this one word proclamation of admiration and honor. In between the two hallelujahs are exhortations to praise God in all places, at all times, with all we have.
Let’s close this year with “Praise the Lord” on our lips. Praise Him for His work in your life over the past months. Praise Him for His “surpassing greatness.” Praise Him for His “acts of power.” Tell Him that you would have never made it through this year without Him by your side.
Begin a new year praising God with your lips and with your life. Let everyone know that you serve the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. Demonstrate to all those in your world that you will honor Him with obedience, that you will stand for Him even if you have to stand alone. Praise the Lord!
Father, You alone are worthy of all my praise. I praise You for this year and I praise You for a new year. May my life be a song of praise proclaiming my love for You, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
