God’s way is perfect. All the Lord’s promises prove true. He is a shield for all who look to him for protection.

God never makes a mistake, never needs a mulligan, and never asks for a do-over. His instruction is perfect, and his plans for you are flawless. Our confidence comes from knowing God shields us; he is our refuge.

Sometimes, our confidence in God is increased by how he works in our challenges. And, for sure, experience is a great teacher. And…the knowledge of God begins by reading God’s Word. George Mueller reminds us that the daily reading of God’s flawless Word is essential for learning and experiencing God’s character. Mueller writes,

There is the reading of the Scriptures, that we may by them acquaint ourselves with God as He has revealed Himself in His Word.

Are you able to say, from the acquaintance you have made with God, that He is a lovely Being? If not, let me affectionately entreat you to ask God to bring you to this, that you may admire His gentleness and kindness, that you may be able to say how good He is, and what a delight it is to the heart of God to do good to His children.

Take the time to read God’s Word and learn that he is the loving heavenly Father. Then, when you run to him for refuge, you’ll be able to experience what you have learned and know it to be true.

Father, give us the desire to read your flawless Word and learn that your way is perfect before we experience that truth in challenging times. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
