Psalm 136:23-26
He remembered us in our low estate
His love endures forever.
and freed us from our enemies.
His love endures forever.
He gives food to every creature.
His love endures forever.
Give thanks to the God of heaven.
His love endures forever.
God will never forget you. Others may but not God. Friends will come and go, neighbors will move in and out. Sometimes even family members will walk away, but God always has us on His mind. Even when we fall away He will never write us off. He remembers us in our low places, the places where others will leave us be. He stoops down to lift us up. His love endures forever.
God will never leave us captive. Sin comes in the form of unbreakable chains. The locks are secure. In our best Houdini-like efforts we remain chained, trapped, caught. The Enemy comes to destroy us while we are imprisoned. We are no match for his power or deception. After all, he is a liar and the father of lies. However, God comes to our rescue. He opens the locks and frees us from certain death. He gives us eternal freedom. His love endures forever.
God gives us everything we need. His presence satisfies our starving souls. His mercy quenches our desperate thirst. His food never runs out and never gets old. He gives us everything we need to do everything He calls us to do. When we come to the end of our lives, we don’t have to fear. He will carry us home. His love endures forever.
Father, I give thanks to You, the God of heaven. I thank You for Your eternal covenant of loyal love purchased in full by Jesus. In His name I pray. Amen.
