Refuge: God’s Purpose Will Stand

Isaiah 46:9-11
Remember the things I have done in the past. For I alone am God! I am God, and there is none like me. Only I can tell you the future before it even happens. Everything I plan will come to pass, for I do whatever I wish. I will call a swift bird of prey from the east—a leader from a distant land to come and do my bidding. I have said what I would do, and I will do it.

  • Regardless of terrorists’ threats …
I alone am God! My purpose will stand.
  • Regardless of the economic forecast …
I alone am God! My purpose will stand.
  • Regardless of Supreme Court decisions …
I alone am God! My purpose will stand.
  • Regardless of rogue rulers who make arrogant claims …
I alone am God! My purpose will stand.
  • Regardless of nuclear buildups …
I am God, and there is no other. My purpose will stand.
  • Even when the doctor’s report is not what you wanted to hear …
  • Even when your spouse walks away …
  • Even when your dream dies …
  • Even when you don’t get the job …
  • Even when your child is estranged …
  • Even when you are discouraged …
  • Even when grief hits you with a vicious uppercut …
  • Even when your heart is broken …
  • Even while you wait on God to answer …

Remember God’s promise: I alone am God! Everything I plan will come to pass.

Father, in our joy, sadness, disappointment, discouragement, confusion, and fear, we proclaim that you alone are God! Thank you that everything you plan will come to pass. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

This Devo is just what I needed today. Cancer is back again, after 27 years of remission.
    Thank you.
