[expand title=”Devotion Text”]Daniel 9:4
I prayed to the LORD my God and confessed: “Lord, the great and awesome God, who keeps his covenant of love with those who love him and keep his commandments…”
In today’s passage, there are three important things we learn about God. Let’s check them out.
- He is a personal God. God is not to be held at arm’s length. He is a God who desires a relationship with us and provides the way to Himself through Jesus. Daniel uses the personal pronoun to describe his relationship with God. Can you, like Daniel, pray to “the LORD my God”?
- He is unique. There is no God like our God. He is unique in His greatness. He is omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient. He inspires the wonder, admiration . . . the amazement of those who worship Him.
- He always keeps His covenant of love. God will never go back on His promise. He will never renegotiate His commitment to love us through eternity. His love is not based on our performance. His commitment to us is based on His grace and mercy. Our relationship with God is all on Him.
How do you respond to a God like our God? Only one way. Worship Him with your entire life!
Father, You are the all-powerful God! Yet I can speak with You right now. Thank You for sending Jesus to enable me to have a relationship with You. Thank You for the certain promise that You will never remove Your love for me. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
